In the heart of Lancaster County, a young craftsman's dream took root in 1992. At just 19 years old, after managing a business for someone else working with treated wood, he found himself yearning to venture out on his own. Guided by a deep respect for integrity, he refused to compete with the business he had left behind. His first customer approached him with an unusual request: to build a playground boat. Inspired by the challenge, he poured his creativity and skill into the project, crafting a unique wooden masterpiece. That single boat became the spark that ignited a thriving business, combining traditional craftsmanship with a passion for creating joy. Today, this family-owned business continues to design and build high-quality, hand-crafted wooden playground sets. Each piece carries the legacy of ingenuity, hard work, and a commitment to excellence that began over 30 years ago. What started as a simple request has grown into a timeless tradition, bringing laughter and adventure to families everywhere. In 2023, this young craftsman is choosing retirement and transitioning ownership of his business to his two sons, Leon and Daniel, who will carry forward its legacy with the same integrity and dedication. Quality Hillside Woodworks provides wooden playground boats, wooden playground castles, wooden playground arks, and specialty playsets to the Christiana, PA area.
